What are you willing to trade?

Barter system

If the world worked on a barter system, how would you fare? Would you have services to barter? Would you be successful, or would you struggle?

If the world today worked on a barter system, I would fare my goods and services by asking the punter to trade me great books or seeds of any vegetables, fruits or trees. Because having books will give me more idea to be wiser in life, while seeds once it grow up it would be everything a person needs in life.

On the other hand,  I don’t have anything to trade of in this era where I exactly live, but, I can share my craft in collecting information about certain thing for the benefit of awareness; to halt doubts  and resolve issues. I know people would trade everything for a little data they want to be in their hands, especially, when it involves autonomy or just a card to frighten an enemy. If that would happen I am proud to be a girl version of famous Sherlock Holmes.

Nevertheless, a pang of guilt is growing inside me whenever I think that I need to aks of exchange to do a favour to someone else. Thus, I will make sure that every information I will give are all product of truth and my good perseverance, so that the punters who will make a trade to me would not regret.

Barter system was once a reminder in our history that all things could have its own value without the notion of money as the extent of value of all things. Sometimes we have to evaluate ourselves, what does we value most? And why do we value it? Are we willing to trade it for another thing? I hope it is not because it’s expensive, but because of the great memory shelter on a certain thing. Whether it was good or worst memory it still became part of who we are today. Furthermore, the barter system taught us to trade fairly and bravely to live in order and selflessly.
